OMG - didn’t realize when I read the initial announcement on the T-Goan forum that Candice was the daughter of our very own SJCSZ family, Steve and Emilia Parado. Wow!! Really impressed!!
That little island of ours has produced some gems - in music, literature, politics and now science of cooking.
Way to go Candice. Congratulations to You. And also her proud parents.thank you Steve for the context.
Wondering if we can get the program here in the US. Will keep looking.

We have over 300 members in this group who love to hear tidbits about Tanzania.
However everyone of us could do with encouragement of sorts and it only takes a few minutes to do so.
Candice Riley, daughter of Emilia and Steve Parado has accomplished a lot being a runner up in the British Baking show and a word of encouragement would go a long way!
Emilia & Steve Parado do a lot for the community, pena few lines on this forum to their daughter Candice!
Thanks,
Stephen de Souza

Yes we came from humble beginnings and should never forget where we've come from.
We should praise our colleagues and children for success they've achieved. Steve and Emilia were both my classmates and would like to congratulate them and daughter on a great achievement. Way to go!!

Congratulations Candice. I have been watching this show faithfully for many years, but didn't realize the close relationship with Zanzibar during this season .
Emilia and Steve, congratulations, her achievement is a reflection of what you have taught her. You must be so proud of Candice. We were rooting for Candice because she had earlier disclosed that she was from Tanzania but not knowing that she was Goan and from Zanzibar! I was jumping in my seat when I saw you guys on TV. It is a great achievement making it to the final three.
Once again, congratulations, WAY TO GO CANDICE.

Congratulations Emilia and Steve to the fantastic achievement of Candice. Have a picture of her creation that catapulted her into the finals?? Cake decorating was my passion in the kitchen for about 10 years when we were first married. Would love to see what she made.

Trevor,
It’s been eons ago that Zanzibar was my playground, now a distant memory, which though distant, it’s still vivid as I read the notes subscribed in SJCSZ of once upon a time. Hence, ‘Blessed are the humble of heart,’. I say this with honesty and much joy to allay your fears and to boost your sense of pride. You are truly a blest brother of Zanzibar.
Your note about ‘humble beginnings’ touched my heart. You have nothing to apologize for. Your note bespeaks of the many blessings you have received from God. You have the true heart of Jesus. Your parents gave you their love and their hearts as did all the Goan families for their children in Zanzibar. Only the loud-mouthed and empty-headed-nobodies, promoted ‘pride and prejudice’. …. Nothing to be emulated or admired. The Precious Blood Sisters, the Holy Ghost Fathers, Our Community, and our Parents did us proud and taught us well. Stand proud and God bless, friend of Jesus. You and your family are truly blest. Stay that way, always.
Love and blessings to All.
Yvette
